Handing over control of our failing migration poli

Handing over control of our failing migration policy to the EU is not a solution.

This Government has sought to make us feel comfortable with accepting 15,000 irregular migrants per annum, whereas this figure was less than 4,000 per annum when the Government took office.

At the present rate, the number of irregular migrants will top 22,000 for 2024 alone. As the IPAS accommodation chart shows, ineptitude or ideology may be a major contributory factor.

The Government's failure has led it to seek to pass the buck to the EU. We need to retain the sovereignty fought for and secured by Lisbon II, especially given the open flow of people between us and Britain.

What is missing is the political will to support genuine asylum, to carefully regulate and manage economic migration, and to discourage and penalise queue jumping migration, which disadvantages the poorest of the poor while exposing our country to risk.

It is wrong that sovereignty is being ceded in this important and sensitive area without wider public debate. I encourage people to contact their local politicians NOW as by next week we may have taken an irrevocable step.

The Government’s AHR and Surrogacy legislation enables the denial of natural motherhood, the exploitation of financially vulnerable women and the commodification of children. Surrogacy is massively abusive of human rights and is rightly banned in most European countries. This legislation received no challenging scrutiny in the Dáil. Please contact your politicians and demand a pause on this legislation so that its full implications can be considered by the public.

A Bill on surrogacy and assisted human reproductio

A Bill on surrogacy and assisted human reproduction comes before the Seanad this week.

The Bill enables the exploitation of poor women for surrogacy and denies a child’s right not to be bought and sold through surrogacy. The Bill also provides for experimentation on human embryos.

This Bill passed through the Dáil without a vote!

No wonder people are frustrated by the political system and are angry with their political parties.

But don’t give up. Please share this post and contact your TDs and Senators now.

Warnings about ‘eco-grief’ occurring among Irish schoolgoers suggest we’re overdoing it on climate alarmism in the education system now. Instead of scaring young people into panic and paralysis, we should help them prepare for the world as it is and can be, and educate about the power of democratic action. The school curriculum on climate, as with other areas of study, should be designed by experts, not activists.
